Ghydion Pulse Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 23, 2026
Last updated: October 23, 2026
Version: pulse-health-data-2
This policy is from Ghydion Co. ("Ghydion", "we"), the maker of Ghydion Pulse. It explains the consumer health data Pulse handles and how you can use your rights.
Some of this data never leaves your phone. We list it anyway, because Pulse processes it.
1. The health data we collect, and why
| Health data | Why we use it | Where it's kept |
|---|---|---|
| Your drinks: time, amount, type of drink, and electrolytes if you add them | To track your daily goal, streak and history | Your phone only |
| Your goal and habits: daily goal, drinking hours, weekly number, and check-in count | To set your goal and space your check-ins | Your phone. Your drinking hours and weekly number go to our server only while you share. |
| Your birthday (used to work out your age and to celebrate it) | To check that you're 18 or over, and to celebrate your birthday | Your phone only |
| Body details, if you use the estimate: weight, height, gender, activity level, and home elevation | To estimate your daily goal | Your phone only |
| Pregnancy or breastfeeding, if you tell us | To adjust the goal estimate | Your phone only |
| A clinician's fluid limit or target, if you have one | So Pulse uses their number instead of an estimate | Your phone only. While you share, friends and groups see "just tracking, no set goal" in place of a goal. |
| Progress worked out from your drinks: today's progress (%), streak and best streak, flame size, this week's goal days, the minute you reached today's goal, electrolytes as a %, whether you're taking it easy (behind today, or just tracking), and badges | To show your progress, and to show it to friends and groups you choose | Your phone. Today's % and badges are always on our server. The rest goes to our server only while you share. |
| Check-in reminder times, time zone, the time your day starts (if you changed it), and whether today counts yet, if you turn on reminders | To send the reminders you asked for | Our server |
| Anything health-related you put in feedback, including a screenshot | To answer you and improve Pulse | Our feedback inbox (Netlify), with a copy in our email inbox (Gmail) |
2. Where it comes from
- You, when you answer sign-up questions, log drinks or change settings.
- Your phone, when Pulse works out your goal, progress, streak and badges from what you log.
3. Who we share it with
People you choose. We share your health data with others only when you connect with them. Sharing your progress with friends you add is its own choice, separate from your consent to Pulse using your health data: at sign-up, the box Share my progress with friends I add starts ticked, and you can untick it (accounts made before that box existed keep their switch as they left it). You can turn it off any time, for everyone (Partners › Let friends and groups see my progress) or for one friend (Share my progress with them, on their card). A friend you've turned off sees only your bubble and badges, in groups too. If your switch is off when you add someone, it turns on for that person only: the friends and groups you weren't sharing with stay that way.
- Friends and group-mates you connect with always see your bubble (roughly how far along today you are, in steps of 10%) and your badges.
- While your sharing switch is on, they also see today's progress as a %, your streak, flame and the flame style and background you wear, week, the minute you reached your goal, and whether you're taking it easy. Friends also see electrolytes as a %, your drinking hours and your local day. Groups don't.
- They never see ounces, what you drink, your body details, pregnancy or breastfeeding, a clinician's number, or any health reason behind a quiet day.
Our service providers. Netlify hosts our server, storage and feedback inbox for us. Google (Gmail) runs the email inbox where Netlify sends us a copy of each feedback form. We may use Anthropic's Claude, an AI assistant, to help us read feedback and run our support tools. We share data with them only so they can provide their service to us.
Push services. If you turn on notifications, Apple, Google, Mozilla or Microsoft (depending on your browser) deliver them. The messages are encrypted, so they can't read them.
Affiliates: we don't share it with any related company.
We don't sell consumer health data.
We may also disclose it if the law requires it, for example a valid court order, or to protect someone's safety.
4. Your rights, and how to use them
You can:
- Confirm and access: ask whether we have your health data, get a copy, and get a list of the companies we've shared it with, with their contact details. The friends and groups you share with are listed in Pulse, on Partners.
- Withdraw consent: use Settings › Your data › Delete my data, or email us. To stop sharing with friends and groups only, turn off your sharing switch (for everyone, or for one friend), leave the group, or remove the friend.
- Delete: use Delete my data in Pulse, or email us. We delete it from our server (which Netlify stores for us) within 30 days. Delete my data also wipes your phone.
- Correct: edit your details in Settings, or email us.
- Portability (Connecticut): ask for a copy in a format you can reuse.
How to ask: email support@ghydion.com. Requests are free, at least twice a year, and you don't need an account. We may ask you to send the request from Pulse, or show us your friend code on your phone, to make sure it's you.
When we answer: within 45 days. If we need more time, we'll tell you why within those 45 days, and we can take up to 45 more.
Appeals: if we turn down your request, reply with "Appeal". We'll answer in writing within 45 days and explain what we decided and why. If we still say no, you can contact your state's Attorney General:
- Washington: Office of the Attorney General, atg.wa.gov/file-complaint, 1-800-551-4636 (in Washington) or 206-464-6684
- Nevada: Office of the Attorney General, ag.nv.gov/Complaints/CSU_Complaints___FAQ
- Connecticut: Office of the Attorney General, portal.ct.gov/ag/common/complaint-form-landing-page
- Anywhere else: your state's Attorney General
